IBM Equal Access Accessibility Toolkit

As a researcher for the global IBM Accessibility team, I conducted the research to create the roadmap for the platform development. I ran an 8-week study that uncovered the necessary and ‘nice to have’ elements to help designers, developers, project managers, and auditors implement best-in-class accessibility practices.

Upon developing the research insights into a tangible roadmap, I was hands-on with the design process. I wore many hats to help our team make deadlines, such as content designer, brand approval coordinator, UX/UI researcher, sponsor user program director, presenter, and advocate.

IBM Equal Access Accessibility Checker

With over 10,000+ users today, the IBM Equal Access Accessibility Checker is one of my most prideful projects.

I conducted countless studies to undercover what developers needed out of their tools and how the Checker could migrate into their workflow rather than disrupt it. A common theme I’ve seen time and time again from this project is to make tools that make sense. It seems simple but in practice it can be difficult to develop.
